Security Systems for Home

November 6, 2008

Hey, I’m back again with something else to write about and this time its on the subject of home security. I know that there’s always stories in the news about hose break-ins and that a large proportion of the perpetrators are doing it to get money to buy drugs, but that doesn’t make it ant easier for the folks who are the ones on the receiving end of the thief’s desires.

So what can you do? Well I’ll tell you one thing you can go right ahead and do and that to make sure you home is more secure than the rest of the houses in your street. I know that sounds a little callous, because it means that any thief with any sense will leave your place alone and go break into one of your neighbors!

But the reality is, who would you rather be? The guy standing there with his head in his hands crying over his home having been wrecked by some pot-head damn drug addict? Or the guy next door talking to the news crew about how terrible it is living round here these days!

So when I say you need to make sure you’re property is more damn secure than your neighbors, I am not kidding! There are some really good security systems for home (see: www.cphd.org/home-security/security-systems-for-home.php) that are on the market and they don’t have to cost the earth either.

Just get up some good, bright security floodlights and a high profile visible alarm and you are probably already safer than the guy next door. Until he reads this and sees what you just done and goes and gets something better, that is! Ha ha!

But you can get good camera surveillance systems that hook up to a DVr system that you can hide in your home so if the worse comes to the worst, the thief can be identified and he won’t be able to steal your damn DVr with the evidence ion it!

Or you could go one step further and make sure you have good quality locks on all your windows and doors. Whatever you do, if your place looks a tougher target than any other in your street, the chances are you won’t get broken into by some opportunist thief who will always take the path of least resistance and break into an easier target, which is a less secure house.

You have been warned!
